A total of one new lawsuit was filed in Jefferson County District Court against insurance companies during the week of Sept. 9-13.
The following complaint was filed:
• Jesus Lopez Becerra and Blanca Becerra of 3806 Seventh St. in Port Arthur allege their insurance company, Fire Insurance Exchange, denied their claim for roof and water damages their property sustained after a windstorm struck on Sept. 29, 2013. The Becerras will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd Worrich and Jake Rogiers of Speights & Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D194-739.
